The Lotus Lantern (劈山救母)

A classic Chinese folktale about a boy whose goddess mother married a mortal. Since their marriage was forbidden, his uncle, also a god, banished the father and son and imprisoned the goddess beneath a mountain. Using the magical lotus lantern that expels evil, the boy defeated his uncle and rescued his mother.
