It is common practice of Chinese people to categorize the necessities of life as "clothing, food, shelter and means of travel". The first place of clothes in the ranking apparently shows its importance in life. In the long history of China, with integration of ethnic groups and cultural exchange between the East and West, clothing styles and customs have never stopped evolving since the very beginning.
